New York Times bestselling author RaeAnne Thayne welcomes you to a small town full of big surprises that are both merry and bright...
Nothing short of a miracle can restore Eliza Hayward's Christmas cheer. The job she pinned her dreams on has gone up in smoke—literally—and now she's stuck in an unfamiliar, if breathtaking, small town. Precariously close to being destitute, Eliza needs a helping hand…for her sick young daughter's sake as well as her own. But she's not expecting her holiday hero to almost run her down with his car!

Rescuing Eliza is pure instinct for tech genius Aidan Caine. At first, putting the renovation of his lakeside guest lodge in Eliza's hands assuages his guilt—until he sees how quickly he could fall for her. Having focused solely on his business for years, he never knew that what his life was missing was Eliza and her little girl. But is he willing to risk hoping for a yuletide romance that could lead to forever?

What is your most favorite holiday event that your family enjoys?

My family loves packing up the car with hot chocolate, popcorn and driving around to look at Christmas lights. There are certain houses in our community which are decorated in a spectacular fashion and it’s always great fun to look for them. Each year we pick some obscure item to look for in people’s outdoor Christmas decorations (one year it was a turtle, which we found, believe it or not!). It adds a fun element.

Who is your favorite character in Snow Angel Cove?

I have two favorites and I can’t choose (sorry!). I have loved Dermot Caine, the hero’s father, since he showed up in the early Hope’s Crossing books (I think he was mentioned in the first one, but didn’t actually appear until Book 2). It was wonderful having him show up to visit his son in Snow Angel Cove and showing their close relationship. And then, of course, I simply adored Maddie. The little five-year-old daughter of the heroine was so adorable, so filled with love and joy of the season. Even though she faces a tough road ahead, she doesn’t let that stop her from tackling life head-on, which is, I think, a great example for all of us.

Which came first, the title or the novel?

I had a synopsis finished for the book and figured out the hero was buying a property called Snow Angel Cove, but the actual finished story came some months after the title had been determined and the cover created.

What scene in Snow Angel Cove are you most proud of, and why?

I love the climactic scenes in the book when the hero gives the heroine a special gift he worked hard to create for Christmas. This wasn’t at all the way I planned the book to end originally, but the closer I got to writing the end, the more I realized I needed to switch directions. I love the way the ending turned out and it was really one of those serendipitous things that my subconscious figured out on its own.

Thinking way back to the beginning, what’s the most important thing you’ve learned as a writer from then to now?

It took me about twenty books before I really identified with my core story and the kind of romances I love to write most—sweet, heartwarming, emotional tales about decent people trying to make it through hard times to find love on the other side.

What do you like most about the cover of Snow Angel Cover?

I love the barn. When I was a girl, we had a huge white barn on our Indiana farm that was the site of so many wonderful memories for me. We didn’t have animals in there (it was a hobby farm, really, only 3 acres by the time my family purchased it. We did have pigs and chickens in other outbuildings, but nothing in the main barn, go figure!). It was mostly a big empty space where we could play basketball in the loft or ride bikes downstairs through the stalls during harsh Indiana winters. We had spook alleys there and clubhouse meetings and all kinds of fun things.

What was your favorite book in 2014?

Oh, too many to count! I read so many fabulous books this year. Most recently, I loved Kristan Higgins’ In Your Dreams and Waiting on You, and Joanna Bourne’s latest, Rogue Spy.

What’s up next for you?

I’m almost finished with the second book in Haven Point, Redemption Bay. This is a July release and features McKenzie Shaw, the mayor of Haven Point, and Ben Kilpatrick, a friend to the hero of Snow Angel Cove. After that, I’ll be writing the book of McKenzie’s sister Devin, Evergreen Springs, coming next October. I can’t wait to write another Christmas book set in the beautiful town of Haven Point!
